About Sheila

Hello! I’m Sheila Wahezi, a private childcare provider, early childhood educator, consultant, and coach. I offer a combination of traditional childcare with the professional-level insight and intentionality of a seasoned educator.

With a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and an M.S. in Early Childhood Education from CSUEB, I bring both academic knowledge and practical experience to my caregiving approach.

Since 2018, I've worked closely with children in various capacities:

  • Registered Behavior Technician: Supported children on the Autism Spectrum, enhancing my understanding of individualized care.

  • Preschool Teacher (2019–2025): Six years of classroom experience with children aged 0-5, fostering development through play and structured learning. I am a previous GeoKids educator and so much of my work is reflective of their program.

My commitment to professional growth includes:

From my years of education and experience, I have learned just how important play and care are to a child’s development. I see the connection between how we care for children and how we care for our own inner child. Children play an important role in our world and deserve respect and support, as do their families. The saying “it takes a village,” truly is no joke.

My mission

is to bridge the best of early childhood education with the intimacy and flexibility of in-home care. I bring my experience as a classroom teacher and my studies in the Reggio Emilia approach into families’ homes, offering personalized, developmentally grounded support that fosters connection, security, and growth.

At the heart of my work is a belief in consistency, emotional attunement, and long-term relationship building rooted in mutual respect and collaboration. I’m here to support children in becoming more themselves, and to support parents in feeling more resourced, confident, and connected along the way.
